How to use it
Screw Sorter
A sorting box for the screws around your house. Lay a screw on the slide. It slides down and drops into the bin that matches its length.
Lid on, it is a storage box. Slide out, it is a plain organizer.
How it works
- Lay one screw across the top of the slide, head to the wall.
- Let go. It slides down and drops into its bin.
- Lift the slide out to grab what you need. Put it back. Close the lid.
What fits
- Wood screws, drywall screws, deck screws, and cabinet screws.
- Inch and metric sizes, in one box. Each bin lists both.
- From 1/2 inch to 3 inches (13 to 80 mm).
- Flat head, bugle head, pan head, and round head.
- Machine screws and bolts sort too, by whole length.
What does not fit
- Screws longer than 3 inches.
- Nails and lag bolts.
- It sorts by length, not by thickness. A thin screw and a thick screw of the same length share a bin.
The bins
Eight bins by length: up to 5/8", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2" to 1 5/8", 2", 2 1/2", and 3". One more bin for nuts, washers, and odd bits.
Parts and size
- Three parts: the box, the slide, and the lid.
- About 5 by 7 inches, and 4 inches tall at the high end.
- The labels, our name, an inch ruler, and a millimeter ruler are printed into the lid.
- Printed in PLA at our home in Castle Rock, Colorado.
