Might As Well Co.

What we know about you.

Effective 29 August 2026.

This is short because there is not much to say. We collect what the product needs to work, and most of what you might expect us to hold, we deliberately do not.

If you set up a tag

We store what the tag is on, an optional nickname and note, the phone number you chose to show (or nothing, if you kept it private), your email address, and the language you set it up in. That is the whole record.

There is no field for a child's name, a school, a grade, a date of birth, a home address, or a photo. Not hidden, not optional — absent from the database. A finder sees the object, never the person.

If you found something and left a message

Your name, the contact you typed, and your message go straight to the owner by email. We do not store them. What we keep is that a tag was looked at and when — the tag number and a timestamp, nothing else. No IP address, no location, no device details. You are a bystander doing someone a favour, not someone we get to profile.

If you buy something

Payment and delivery are handled by Stripe. Your card details never touch our systems, and your delivery address is held by Stripe rather than by us. We read it when we pack the box.

Who else touches it

Cloudflare hosts the site and the database. Resend delivers the email. Stripe handles payment. That is the entire list. We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and there are no analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

Cookies

Two, and neither of them follows you anywhere. One remembers whether you chose English or Spanish. One keeps us signed in to our own admin page.

Do Not Track

We do not track you across websites, so a Do Not Track signal has nothing here to switch off. We honour it by never having built the thing it disables.

Changing or deleting what we hold

Tap your tag and choose “update my details”. We email a link to the address already saved on the tag — never to one typed into the form, which is what stops a stranger redirecting it to themselves. From there you can change anything, or switch the tag off, which deletes your details and points any future finder at a lost and found instead.

Children

An adult sets up and manages every tag. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the design makes it hard to do by accident: there is nowhere to type a child's name.

How long we keep it

Your tag details for as long as the tag is switched on, and no longer. The scan log — tag number and timestamp — we keep, because it is the only way to know whether the product is being used at all.

Email from us

The address on your tag is used to reach you about that tag: a finder's message, or a link to change your details. Anything else only if you have separately said yes, and you can stop that at any time without it affecting your tag.

If this changes

The date at the top changes with it, and anything new we collect will be described here.
